How we got our start
We are a family-operated and home-based childcare and preschool program, founded by a husband and wife educator-team. In 2015, we embarked upon this endeavor to open a daycare when we moved cities and had difficulty finding a quality, clean, and nutritious daycare for our daughter who was 15 months at the time. We also found that many of the homes and centers we visited had far too many children for our child to receive the individual attention and care that we wished for. Since we couldn't find the right fit for our family, we set out to create that perfect program. We are so excited to have our doors open and to serve other families in our community!
Our teaching philosophy
Our little program is small, nurturing, and in support of all types of learning - social, physical play, and academics are a top priority! More specifically, we are designed to enhance each child's strengths and interests, develop language skills (both verbal and non-verbal), increase your little one's capacity for patience and tolerance, and create a love for learning among our little scholars.
Throughout the day, children have the opportunity to engage in various learning experiences via our preschool curriculum, arts and sciences activities, music and movement, dramatic and imaginative play, story time, sensory play, as well as active and engaging outdoor playtime. We do accept infants and have developmental toys, books, and activities available for them as well! When appropriate, we allow our youngest scholars to participate in academics alongside the preschoolers to the extent possible.
One of our top priorities is to prepare your child for future success once he or she is ready to transition to a kindergarten classroom. In our time in the field of education, we have learned that knowing the prerequisite academic skills (like ABC's and 123's) just isn't enough to "make it" in those first few years of school. In fact, most kindergarten teachers notice very quickly those children who just don't seem to "fit" with the rest of the class - particularly those who have difficulty sitting during circle time, sharing, waiting their turn, following directions, and engaging meaningfully with other children. For this reason, we focus our teaching not just on academic readiness, but behavior, social skills, and active engagement/ participation as well.
Please see our Services page to learn more about our program offerings and highlights. We look forward to helping your child grow!
Future plans for growth
The vision for our school (in the next 3-5 years) is to expand into a larger facility where we can offer after-school supports in the areas of Social Skills, Speech-Language, Occupational and Physical Therapy, Counseling, Educational Consultation, Advocacy, and Academic Remediation. These services will be in addition to our current childcare and preschool services, and while continuing to maintain a low student-to-staff ratio. Tree House will be an all-inclusive educational and therapeutic center, where parents can seek support for any type of need they may have for their child. For now, we are a small home-daycare with lots of love and support to help your child learn and grow! Thank you for your interest and we hope to hear from you soon.

GIDGET: Joe and Taryn adopted Gidget from a shelter in Illinois when she was 5 months old (ask about her story, its pretty amazing). Gidget is 7 years old now, and while she is slowing down a bit, she still loves
playing and being active. She enjoys taking drives in the truck and going on skateboard rides with daddy. Gidget was very easy (and fun) to train - she is extremely obedient and lives to please!
